Will my credit card still be charged?

Credit Card Machines
I recently made a purchase at a department store, the amount was over 0.00. I swiped my american express card in the machine and pressed credit and pressed ok when the amount came up, the clerk then gave me the slip to sign. When I got home I realized that the store clerk put not only my copy of the charge slip in the bag but the store copy as well. Will this charge still show up on my amex?

It doesn’t matter if they have the slip of not. You swap the card in their POS terminal. the information got transferred to AMEX the transaction is either in the pending stage or already approved for merchant payment, they will charge you the amount anyway.
Sorry you will not get a freebie.

What happens when someone swipes your card on one of those little machine thingies?
Yes, you’ll get charged.

Your are still going to get charges. And the sales rep. is going to get repremanded when he/she counted out their drawer for the evening b/c of the missing receipt and overage of cc balances!

It’ll still show up on your Amex (if you’re not sure, call the number on the back of your card for the latest charges, or talk to customer service) but someone at the department store may be eventually tearing their hair out because something doesn’t balance. Drop off the store copy of the charge slip when you get a chance.
