What is the best way to say "no credit cards, cash only"?

Credit Card Machines
Our telephone service in my restaurant has been temporarily disconnected so our credit card machine doesn’t work. What is the best way to say that we can’t accept credit cards due to telephone disconnection? Should I just write, "Due to our temporarily unavailable phone service, credit cards will NOT be accepted. We are sorry for this inconvenience. Thank You"

I agree about not letting your customers know you dont have a phone service. Just post at the counter and at the door so customers will know when they enter the store. I would also post it on the menus. " Due to credit card system needing repaired we are only accepting cash. Sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

That sounds like an excellent way to say it.

That makes you appear irresponsible. I would say "Cash only! Our credit card machine is currently out of order. We are sorry for any inconveniences and assure you it will be fixed as soon as possible"
