From what I recall it is. My problem is I have DSL internet and a phone jack where I plan to process credit cards, but where I plan to set up office, I only have a cable (and nowhere else in the space) and no phone jack. I need internet in my office!

Is it possible to switch to cable and still process credit cards with cable internet, or is the only solution to go wireless (w/ either internet or credit card processing)?

To make a long story short, I had a merchant credit card processing account setup through the original creditor, Cardservice International, approximately 4 years ago. During that time I only made a few charges using the account. They were large charges and totaled just over ,000 altogether. These charges were never deposited into my bank account and I was contacted by a man working with their fraud management department. He wanted me to send out products before receiving the funds so I did not agree and I stopped using the merchant account. I also contacted my bank to block their access to my checking account.

Now they have hired the collection agency Allen & Associates on their behalf to collect the ,000 that they never gave me in the first place! I’ve obtained former bank statements from Wachovia and spoken to a branch manager. I attempted to send this information to Allen & Associates, but the agent on the phone refused to provide me with a fax number where I could send documents to dispute this debt and told me that I should just get an attorney because they will sue me. They did "claim" that a representative from Wachovia will be present to testify that the deposits were made so tomorrow I plan to bring the list of supposed deposits into a branch to get a certified letter from a branch manager stating that they were not. This invalid debt for ,000 is also on my credit report as of right now. I’ve disputed it and it was removed at one point, but it appears that A&A has reported it again.

I need to legal advice on how to proceed. I’ve tried to dispute the debt, but obviously they will not allow me to even show them the documentation I have to support my claims. If I do file a suit against them do I file against the CA or the original creditor?

About 2 years ago I opened up a merchant account with a credit card processing company called Card Service International so I could charge credit cards for my ebay sales instead of using Paypal. Well the first week of sales totaled about ,200 or so. A few days after charging the cards I still saw no sign of the money in my bank account. Then a few days later I saw a DEBIT for ,200 on my account from CSI (card service international). I called them about they explained that since my accoutn was new a red flag was triggered in their system and they were going to have their fraud dept review my account and until the review was complete they would have to chargeback all my recent orders. I explained to the man on the phone SEVERAL TIMES that they have never DEPOSITED the money from the orders into my account int he first place so they didn’t need to DEBIT my account because they never gave me the money to begin with that I had earned from the sales. Apparenly he didn’t care….
I researched the company and found several other complaints similar to mine that and that many class action lawsuits had been filed against CSI b/c they had a history of fraud. I quickly blocked all access to my bank account by this company and filed a chargeback to get my 00 back.

So this morning (2 years later) I wake up and find that I have some new info on my credit report. CSI is claiming that I have debts owed to them amounting ,500! I cannot imagine that the amount of money I owe them could possibly even be anywhere NEAR this amount. My merchant fees per month were only a minimum processing fee and a statement fee. How could I POSSIBLY owe them over 16 grand?

Now is it just me, or can they legally do that? There is just NO way I could owe them that much money. I don’t know what to do. Should I consult an attorney?

I found a website that is breaking federal law… It even says so..
I was looking up cheats for RuneScape, (i’m kingzannanna)
And I found, learn hacks from http://www.cbtnuggets.com/webapp/product?id=250
It says, "Certified Ethical Hacker Series
Contains training for the EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker exam 312-50

Ethical Hacker Certification Information [eccouncil.org]

You’re up late, banging away at your keyboard. You find the hole you were looking for. Now you just find the right directory, copy a couple files, back right out of the system, and erase your tracks. Within 15 minutes of finding a back door into the network, you’ve downloaded transaction data for all credit card transactions within the last two years. You’d think credit card processing companies would be more secure than that."
I wanna contact on email at FBI, but only phone. Help?

NYC taxi drivers’ group strikes over GPS rules
Story Highlights
New York cab drivers’ group striking over new GPS rules

Unclear how many drivers are taking part in two-day strike

Rush hour wait for taxis longer than normal, many cabs still out

Strike takes place during New York Fashion Week

NEW YORK (AP) — A group of taxi drivers launched a two-day strike Wednesday, right in the middle of the New York Fashion Week and the U.S. Open tennis tournament, to protest a city plan to require GPS tracking in cabs.

As the morning rush hour got under way, the lines of commuters waiting for taxis outside Pennsylvania Station were longer than usual, but there were still cabs on the streets.

Financial analyst Matt Achilarre said he had waited almost 20 minutes for a taxi there and had no sympathy for the striking drivers.

"It’s pointless — they’re not making any statements," said Achilarre, 26, who commutes by train from New Jersey. "I applaud the cabbies that are working. They’ll get a windfall."

The New York Taxi Workers Alliance called the strike in the nation’s largest city to protest new rules requiring all cabs to have global positioning systems and touch-screen monitors that will let passengers pay by credit card. Some cabbies fear the GPS systems could be used to track their movements and that they could get stuck paying hefty fees for credit card processing.

"The overwhelming majority of drivers are against this system, and there are serious setbacks this system is causing drivers," the alliance’s executive director, Bhairavi Desai, said Wednesday.

Desai said the drivers’ group hoped the strike would persuade city officials to back off the requirement.

It wasn’t immediately clear how many of the city’s 13,000 taxis would be idled. The alliance claims to represent about one-fifth of the Taxi & Limousine Commission’s 44,000 licensed drivers, but its leaders predicted a larger number would join in. However, several other groups that represent thousands of city cab drivers released statements opposing the strike.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg downplayed the likelihood of widespread disruption, but the city still allowed taxis to pick up multiple separate passengers, and the transit system added buses on some airport routes. Normally, taxi drivers are allowed to pick up only one passenger or group of passengers at a time.

The mayor’s office had no immediate comment on the situation Wednesday morning. A taxi commission spokesman did not immediately return a message left on his cell phone.

The New York Police Department assigned extra police officers to taxi garages and transportation hubs, and plainclothes officers were to ride in some taxis to guard against reprisals against cabbies who chose not to strike, police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said.

The city’s cabs must have the high-tech equipment when they come up for inspection, starting October 1. Taxi officials say eliminating the need for cash could increase ridership and drivers’ incomes, and that the GPS technology will be used to give drivers traffic tips and help passengers find lost items.

Need help solving this, guys.

Background

Your assignment this time is to build an interactive program that allows telemarketers to solicit people in a file for credit cards. The program will open up a text file filled with potential customers and display processed data to the screen in a way that the telemarketer can use it. The program will then give them choices to continue the sales call and finally, will save output to a file for future credit card processing.

Functionality

The program should do the following:

•Read a customer status, name and phone number from a file called potentials.txt

oA customer has a preferred status if the field contains an ‘X’. If it contains anything else, they are not preferred.

•Display the name, phone number and the available interest rate for that customer so that the telemarketer can read it, call the customer and offer them a credit card

oPreferred customers get 7.9%, everybody else gets 12.9%

•Display a menu offering the following options:

oEnter ‘A’ to Accept the card
For this option –
Ask for an address to send the card to
Accept the address
Print a thank you message for telemarketer to read telling the Customer to expect the card soon, happy charging

oEnter ‘T’ to accept and Transfer a balance
For this option-
If preferred – tell them there is no transfer limit
•Accept any dollar amount entered
If not preferred – tell them they can transfer up to 00
•Accept any dollar amount entered as long as it isn’t greater than 1000 (keep asking until you get something less than 1000)
Ask for an address to send the card to
Accept the address
Print thank you message for telemarketer to read telling the customer to expect the card soon, happy charging

oEnter ‘D’ to Decline the card
For this option
If preferred – tempt them with cash back rewards and give them a special phone number to call for a better card
If not preferred – tell them thanks anyhow

•Write the results to a file called confirmed.txt

oThis file should contain the following:
Name
Address
Status flag (X or whatever)
If the account is new (A) or transfer (T)
Any dollar amount they may be transferring.

If the customer declines, they should not appear in the confirmed file

Functionality

You must implement at least three functions other than the main function.

Text file called potentials.txt reads:

———————————–
X Joe Scholtz 437-4798
A Tim Wade 768-7658
X Sara Jobs 326-7857
! Jaynce Bee 354-8678
————————————–

I need to find out my username/password for my router so we can set up credit card processing at my work. My ISP has given me a couple options, but they don’t work. And after looking it up, the factory defaults don’t work either. Is there any way to reset the router back to factory default? Or does anyone have a tech support phone # for Siemens? Or just any helpful info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I created a website in my Dreamweaver program. I have a host, domain, and the design. What I need help with is putting a shopping cart on the site. I really don’t want to use PayPal. I plan on getting a merchant account with a credit card processing company as well as a business bank account. A credit card processing company I am looking at offers free software (gateway software), and I’m not sure how this works with my site. Is there anybody here that has a website with a payment system on their site that can explain the process? Does the software give me some kind of code that will corrispond with my site. I’m not selling products. I’m selling ad space and a local directory. So when people want to advertise on my site, they’ll pay an ad fee. Kind of like classifieds. I want the customer to see their ad and the fee they’re being charged. I also created an order form and I would like to understand how I can incorporate a shopping cart w/ the form.
Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hello .
I have this situation that i hope you can help me out with. My partner and I own a credit card processing company and been in business for about a year. In the the bank card industry there are two type of business people that are currently accepting all form of non-cash payment Visa, M/C etc.. , and business that are not accepting credit cards or checks these are considered or refered to as (NEW BUSINESS). Now the Exsiting businesses we dont make to much money upfront unless we upgrade there equipment and then we make big buck$$ and we get a residual on the account every month when they start processing with us which is nice, and the NEW Businesses we can either lease or sell them equipment that they need to start accept credit cards and checks now these type of business we make BIG BUCK$ for leasing or sell them the equipment and and like the exsiting business we also make a residual every month from there account. Business is good but it could be better. Latley I have been seriously considering going into business for myself which means i keep 100% of my money. The current agreement between my partner and I is 50/50 split and it’s been working out good but i want to make bigger moves which means i need more money. Now the reason that I even teamed up with my partner was because he was good at numbers and could read statements for exsiting businesses and give them lower rates which is important because we have customer that process anywhere from 0-1,000,000 a month so reading statements for high volume merchant is important and he has the ability to lease or sell equipment but he stronger at getting exsiting business then he is at getting new ones. Now I on the other hand am very good at getting new businesses i rather talk to a new business then an exsiting one.. WHY? if you asked.. it because there is only 24hr in a day and even though im owner of the business i try to work a 8hr shift everyday so i want to make the most money possible in the shortest amount of time …are you following me, I can also analize the statements for exsiting businesses not as good as my partner but good enough to get the job done. Now the agreement that we both have is that whatever deal we get we have to deposit 50% in our account and whoever brought that deal in gets to keep the remaining 50% of that deal and at the end of the month we split 50/50 what in our account. Now having my partner around will definately increase my residual portfolio but he doesnt lease equipment that much. Well to make this short DO YOU THINK THAT I SHOULD GO INTO BUSINESS FOR MY SELF AND KEEP 100% OF MY MONEY OR DO YOU THINK THAT I SHOULD CONTINUE THE AGREEMENT AND SPLIT 50% AND AT THE END OF THE MONTH SPLIT 50% OF OUR ACCOUNT.WHICH WAY DO YOU THINK ILL MAKE THE MOST MONEY.

I sell things online, but today I have a customer who rather pay by credit card over the phone. I use paypal for my credit card processing on my website and have a business paypal account. My question is, can I send a paypal invoice to one of my email addresses that isn’t associated with my paypal account and enter the customers credit card information to take payment over the phone? I’d just email her an invoice but she doesn’t like ordering online with her credit card.

Hey yahoo people,

I am currently in the process of setting up a resellers business in California. In Cali, we need a resellers permit and here is where the confusion begins. I need a Reseller’s Permit to begin selling but I need a Merchant Bank Account to receive payments. When I called a organization, they asked me for my Reseller ID, which is the original thing I tried to obtain. Then the representative said I could go to any Reseller and obtain the merchant bank account. So now I need help as many other starting businessmen need in this utter chaos of confusion.

Now I decided to get a Merchant Bank Account first. Where do I get one for an online business that later on down the road will have a retail location?

Once I do get one I will obtain a Reseller’s Permit, but now that leaves me with another question, do I need a Credit Card Processing Terminal for online businesses or will my Merchant Bank take care of it?

PLEASE help : D!!!

Warm Regards,
Jason H.

I am shopping around to find the best solution to charge my customers (in store) who pay with credit cards, and the cheapest too.
I was looking at Quickbooks credit card processing software, and it seems like a good deal. But do I have to have a merchant account in order to use it?

Thanks

If you worked for a company that sold credit card processing, how would you sell that?

I feel like an idiot walking into a small business and being like…" Hey how much are you paying to process visa and mastercards per transaction? - Want to see if I can beat the rate you are paying now?"

To me that sounds like people will just be like….nah I’m good.

Should I call first? Should I hit up flea markets and walk around and ask all the merchants.

Should I call businesses that are mobile and most likely dont even take credit cards and offer them a solution?

What do you think?

I have a small business with very minimal credit card usage. I bought a handheld swiper from Propay online thinking it would be just fine for my usage…and am being told by a guy who sells much more expensive machines that mine will be not usable in about 6 months because of some new laws and that Visa is cracking down on the swipe and transfer data via internet or cell phone type credit card processing that I bought. Any idea if this guy is just trying to sell me with the fear tactic- that mine will be obsolete…or if it's a legitimate point he is making.

I am a small business owner, and hate to use the land line since I am constantly moving, but one the other hand, I must accept the credit card (visa, and Mastercard), like to find a good, low cost solution for credit card processing through my celluar phone, the volumn is not high, at max to about 25 times per day.
By my understanding, dail the 800 number and talk to the 800 service is all what the credit card terminal need to do with the merchant service, so if I can use the current credit card terminal plus a converter which can convert the phone jack to import the terminal line to my celluar line, it should ok.
Please share me with your experience and advices. Thanks.
