Hi! I am starting a small home business with my mother and we are curious how to get one of the black credit card machines to run credit cards from home - or is it easier to do it over the internet? Also, do you set up an account with the credit card companies? If someone has done this before, can you please explain the beginning of the setup to us please - Thanks so much

I am looking into becoming an agent for United Bank Card. They are a merchant payment processor….http://www.isoprogram.com/why_ubc/
I would like to know the following:
1) is it still a good oppty to go out and sell and secure new merchant credit card accounts if so why
2) what questions should I ask any merchant processing company I or ISO I am considering working with regarding compensation, my portfolio of new accounts i bring in which is my book of business or my business i build up
4) What are the advantages or disadvantages of working directly with UBC as a agent Versus an ISO or under another agent
5) If i go work with an ISO or under another agent what questions should I ask him
6) If i go work with an ISO or under another agent I am concerned my compensation and accounts i sign up, since i do not know how this works what should i be asking about compensation, accounts that I pick up are they his or mine, can i sell them off at some point etccc
7) what should I be getting paid on new accounts and how when i am selling credit card machines and opening new merchant accounts not sure what is considered good fair or excellent compensation
what should i be thinking about when trying to decide with which merchant credit card processor to work for, need to know how to determine whom would be a good company to tie up with since I will be building a residual income from the accounts i bring to them concerned about getting hurt in terms of the accounts i secure which is my book of business and whether I can sell it off or whatever not sure of what I should be asking myself concerning this area, need to know what is it exactly I should be asking them when it comes to any new accounts i bring in related to credit card merchant accounts, pos systems, atm’s…

I always see these credit card machines on the gas pump but I’ve never used one before because I don’t want to screw it up. One thing I’ve wondered is do you put the card in before or after you pump the gas and does it ask you any questions on the display screen? Anyway I imagine it is pretty easy to do.
Guys i made a debit card transaction on 11/16/2007, now here is my question if i made the transacion on 16 when i got paid why did it take till 12/03/2007 to post to my account?/????? how do those credit card machines work in stores is there paper work that has to be turned in, in order for the sale to post to the account, or it goes through that moment when they swipe ur card??????
I work for a credit card processor wher I am selling new credit card machines. Here is my question, some of the older machines these merchants use print out the whole credit card number, expiration date and the customers name. I understand and wouldn’t want my info on a receipt, but I am having trouble understanding how someone could take my credit card number and actually spend on it? If they go on the internet to buy something, their IP will get snatched and they would need the 3 digit code on the back of the card to finish a transaction. If they go into a store, they have to convince the cashier to handkey the card number and they have to risk being seen on camera. So how is this such a big problem? What can a theif actually do with the number?
I recieved an email asking me to apply for the job saying they pay weekly commissions, and that you do a one day 8 hour training on the phone and computer, and start the next day going on pre-selected appointments to sell the credit card machines to local businesses. But what i am skeptical about is their claim that you can make 00-00/month. All they ask of me up front is to fill out application and background check form, and fax it back.
Has anyone ever applied or work for this company or any like it. let me know. In these hard economic times, i dont have time for games and dont want to quit a job that i have already for a fluke…
Their website is http://www.cpphr.com
any serious answers would be greatly appreciated.
Or anything else you can help me with concerning credit card machines
i really don’t go to clubs anymore but i was wondering for those who do go quite often, do clubs use credit card machines outside of the club??? the reason i am asking is cuz of a class project that i have..thanks in advance!
I am a 33 year old male and I just laid off from my banking job and I am considering getting into outside sales selling credit card machines and other services to small businesses. The job is 100% commission and it is extremely appealing to me. The company basically sets up appointments for me and I got out and sell small businesses on saving money on their merchant account . Im scared to try it because Im not sure if its a secure income. On the other hand, I dont want to go back to work a 9 to 5 job because I like the freedom that being an independant sales gives me. Can someone tell me if outside sales is a lucrative career ? What about the competition ? Can you make consistant income from it ? Is the merchant bankcard business a good business to be in ?
