I have contacted this e-mail address, and received a response asking me to provide only personal information (including full name, profession, full address and country). They also mentioned the following: "No processing/registration charges or any form of financial payments should be made to Yahoo! or any of it’s affiliated consultants in the U.S, the programme is FREE. The Yahoo! 2007 Mail Offer prize is shipped to recipients only as Cashier’s cheques. Your banking/other personal financial information not required (Your Credit Card information is not required). "
I have sent a photo of my passport online as they asked me to do by an e-mail and received another SMS informing me the following: "Your personal information has been received by the VeriSign Digital Notarization System. Full online data security guaranteed". Is that a spam?? Can they use my personal information for a bad purpose? what shall I do?? Please HELP me.

I sent in the passport application, with all the necessary materials and extra fees for expedited processing nearly two weeks ago, but they haven’t cashed the check I wrote. And since I’m traveling soon, I don’t know if I should be worried if I wrote a bad check somehow, or if they just haven’t gotten around to it yet… And worse case scenario, what if I DID write a bad check? Would I need to reapply? Just send in a new check? Or possibly (ideally) give credit card information over the phone?

We are a new merchant planning on launching an online auction website. Our business falls into higher risk category because it is an online auction plus it involves reserve deposit, capture deposit, and then transfer of deposit. My boss wants me to come up with a solution for the payment process by the end of the week. Our business model violates the rules of various third party processors such as Amazon FPS, Braintree, etc. Authorize.net has APIs to support our business model but I am yet to receive a reply from them. Paypal and GoogleCheckout are off the list because of bad reviews.

The problem is I am not 100% clear on issues such as PCI compliance, how to store the credit card information, etc (I just recently learned about merchant accounts and gateways). What would be a good place to start? How should I go about with my research? Any suggestion would be very helpful(By the way, although my boss is from US I am from Asia so it is not possible for me to make phone calls to various providers. I am trying to communicate with them through emails)

Someone told me they would pay me through credit card, but they did not have time to deal with it so they gave me their credit card information and told me to take care of it. How do i get paid the money through credit card? I do not have a credit card machine. Thanks
I tried paypal. It needs me to confirm the credit card in a couple of days. Any other options?

I was wondering if it was possible for me to take down a customer’s credit card information over the phone and process the payment myself through Paypal. Do they have a special service for this? Or do I simply add the customer’s order to my cart and checkout as if I were the customer. I’m a little afraid about this method because I don’t want a customer coming back saying they did not authorize me to do this.

Someone used my Paypal account this morning to try to buy a bunch of subscriptions to MMORPGs in the UK. Visa fraud protection caught it (I love them) and I don’t have to worry about any of the charges, but I am concerned about my account. Does anyone know how they did this - did they steal my username and password or did they just use an account number or something? I already changed my Paypal password, but do I need to change passwords for other online merchants, close the account, delete my address, anything? All I’ve done with Paypal is change my password and security questions and then deleted my credit card information from the account (even though the card has been cancelled already).

Thanks a lot!

Every day I take customer’s credit card information over the phone to pay for invoices. I write it on form so that we can keep track of it and run it through the credit card machine which is in a different room. I am concerned that the credit card information is all written down and filled away in drawers in my office that anyone could potentially access. Should I be filing this information in a locked cabinet instead? Is this a violation of a HEPA law?

I sell things online, but today I have a customer who rather pay by credit card over the phone. I use paypal for my credit card processing on my website and have a business paypal account. My question is, can I send a paypal invoice to one of my email addresses that isn’t associated with my paypal account and enter the customers credit card information to take payment over the phone? I’d just email her an invoice but she doesn’t like ordering online with her credit card.

They just upgraded my laundry room. Now we can only use a smart card to operate the machines. We have to use a VTM to add value to the card, no cash, credit/debit card transactions only. How safe is my credit card information? I don’t want to be a victim of identity theft because of a couple loads of laundry. Any help on t his is appreciated.

I am making a website for someone who wants to accept payments online. The group already has a merchant account, so they can perform the credit card transactions by hand. They just need a secure service that will store the credit card information for later access. We don’t have a secure server, and would like to find a 3rd party service that can do this for cheap (or even free!). The group is a non-profit, if that makes a difference.

I just opened a business, and I want to be able to run credit cards manually. I do a gutter business, we go to homes and do peoples gutters, and then write down their credit card information, and then I want to be able to charge it. Where can I do this? That is not super expensive.
