Hello im starting a business and currently building my website.I used to sell on eBay and used PayPal as a payment method.Now that im all grown up I will build my website and use a merchant to process payments.Anyways I currently deposit my PayPal balance to my Personal Account but since Im planning on making much more money I will need a Business Account (to make everything legit).I was looking on BOA.com and saw that I need SSN (no problem) and a Business License.Do you really need a Business License for a Website? Where do I go to get one? A local license or a state license or what? Any advice or recommendations will be highly appreciated! Thanx!

I want to know if I signup for a LLC business license and when I apply for a internet merchant account can I use my worker’s information to apply if I don’t want to associate my name on the account ? Thanks
I am looking to sell instructional videos exclusively online through a Yahoo store (total home based operation). Monthly sales estimate to be less than 00. No employees. I have already started selling a few things, but my client list is growing and I do not want to get into any trouble. I know I need a business license of some sort, but I am not sure what else I need. I do not have a store or anything yet, but I am trying to open up a merchant account because a lot of my business is online. Do I need a business name to open a merchant account? Thank you!

I have a merchant account in my name for a family member who for reasons to long to explain cannot get one in her name under her SS#. I have the business license, merchant account, and bank account in my name but I do not see a dime from the business (which does well over 0,000 a year). Will I someday get a knock on my door from the IRS if this family member does not pay the taxes? Am I responsible? Is this even legal?
