PayPal account on eBay help please?!!
You see im new ebay and i dont really know how it works…
1. Do you really need to give your card details to sell something?
2. When you buy something using PayPal, how can that work if you don’t have bank account or have not given your card details?
3. If you have sold an item and someone has bought it using PayPal, how do you get your money in cash and how do you know if they have paid?
4. Can i buy items without through card?
5. When you want to bid or buy something, this comes up
"Attention!
In order to maintain a safe trading environment, eBay may limit activity and request additional verification.
At this time we ask that you verify your account.
You have 2 options:
- Phone verification
or
- Credit Card verification
Phone Verification:
We’ll call the phone number registered to your account to verify that you are the account holder. The process is fast, easy and secure.
Credit Card Verification:
The process is immediate and your card will not be charged.
If i choose Phone Verification, will it ask for my card details? if not what will it ask? if it doesn’t ask for my card details does this mean i can purchase the item?
FINALLY whats:
1. Personal or Banker’s Drafts
2. Postal Order
Please do not give me short answers it won’t help

1. you need to set up a paypal account in order to sell on ebay. As of October first, paypal will be the only accept method of payment.
2. if you don’t have a bank account or a credit card listed with paypal, you can only use it to pay for something is you have a paypal balance to work with. As in, if someone sent you money through paypal, and you haven’t withdrawn it.
3. If you seel on ebay and they payp through paypal, the payment will show up in your paypal account, and paypal will e-mail you a notice that payment has arrived. You can then use the balance to pay for other things through paypal, or you can withdraw the money - transfer to bank account, or have them mail you a check (the mail a check may have a fee associated with it, transfer to bank does not).
4. You can buy items if you have a balance in your paypal account,.
5. that is an ebay thing, not a paypal thing. New ebayers that bid on a lot of things may have to verify who they are. It’s a security measure. No big deal - if you don’t have a CC, use the phone method. Though it may take awhile.
1. personal or banker’s drafts are checks. "Draft" is a fancy word for "check".
2. Postal Order = Postal Money Order.

You have to give them your credit card information, and you cannot buy or sell anything on ebay without confirming you bank or credit card information. The easiest way to verify your account is through your credit card.
