My credit debit card is OK but will not work for online purchases?
Hi everyone. Recently I have been having trouble making my usual online purchases with my credit debit card (Visa). There is nothing wrong with the card and the expiration date is not for 2 more years. But recently when I go to make an online purchase I get a message about my billing information is wrong or some other excuse. I asked one of my usual vendors that I purchase from if they could give me more details and he sent me this mail:
Good Morning Michael,
I just checked with our merchant account again and they restated the decline
comes from your issuing bank. This is the exact reason for the decline:
Address Verification Status-AVS not supported by issuer (S) and this is the
information they provide regarding the denial: Transaction Status-Declined
(Card declined by issuer - Contact card issuer to determine reason.)
Can some one explain to me what this means as I need to purchase most my health products online. Thanks for any input.
Namaste;-)
Michael

Simply means you are entering a billing address which is not the same as the address at which your card is registered. This is a basic security precaution
