Some merchant servicing companies offer equipment that runs on a cell phone line, but expect to pay. Often times the service itself isn't too expensive. However, the equipment will run you a bit of money, although you can try E-bay.

There are several way to process credit cards. If you are not going to be face to face with your customers you can process a card online without buying a machine.

If you are going to be taking a card face to face with a customer there are machines that process via TELEPHONE Dial, HIGH SPEED, Cellular, & Store and Forward.

Each way has its advantages and disadvantages.

The most expensive is the CELLULAR. Not only are the machines much more expensive, but you can expect to add another $25/month for the cellular service on it.

The least Expensive is STORE & FORWARD. There are a couple of machines out there that allow you to swipe the card, print the receipt, but not send the transaction at that moment. It looks like a live transaction, but it is not. The cards are not sent until you go home for the evening, plug the machine into a phone cord, and send all the transactions out. DOWNSIDE - High risk of some of the cards being declined after you sold the product.

In the Middle as far as expense is concerned is the HIGH SPEED TERMINALS that work through a DSL or Cable line. They are a little more expensive for the equipment, but great speed on transactions and low risk.
