Why aren't you buying a phone card? This is a small device about the size of a cigarette lighter that you plug into a USB port on the side of your computer. I just got one, myself, a few months ago. The start-up fee is $89 and thereafter it's $60/month. I'm now able to access the Internet anywhere there's cell phone connectivity possible and I can run for 2.5 hours on my laptop battery or indefinitely with an electrical outlet or plugging into my vehicle.

I'm a stock analyst and investor and trade constantly---moving money around in stocks, consulting with others. I've got to be plugged in all the time. When you're set up this way, you have high speed access but with total portability. I couldn't be happier with the arrangement---and my need is about as great as could be. I went to Radio Shack as they offer all three types of service based on this technology.

For most of them, yes, a phone line is required. Can't you run a phone line to that office? If you go with cable internet, you can use something like Vonage or a similar service and run the CC machine through that.
