if i lose a credit card with a low balance can that hurt me and what to do?

todAy the ATM machine took my credit card away then someone else came along and took it but the card only had 7.94 on it can anything bad happen besides my parents getting upset . they already know.

Well, just to cover yourself from identity theft, I would call up the bank and cancel the card, and have a new one issued for you.

Your question is not clear.
First, you say "it only had $7.94 on it". Sounds like it’s not a credit card, but an ATM / debit card?
Second, you didn’t say how you know "someone else…took it". How do you know that? Chances are the ATM has confiscated the card because your account is overdrawn.
If you do know someone else took it, tell the bank.
