How do you go about getting a credit/debit card machine for a new small business?

A friend just opened a new little pizza business in town and would like to get a card machine to help give customers more options to pay. Problem is none of us know where to begin. Do we talk to a bank? What are the rates, if any? Any information you can give me would be great, thanks!

Your bank is the best place to start, especially if you have a good banking history with them. Fees vary, but expect around 4%

ACFNfranchised.com franchises out ATM’s.
They help you market/place your ATM too. But I don’t know if that’s necessary considering you want it for your own pizzaria.

Talk to the manager at the bank where the business holds its merchant account; they will explain what you need and how to get it.
