Your account is a disaster. I understand that you're in the process of closing it, but you need to speed that up.

Never share your account number with anyone you can't trust. Remember, anybody that you've ever written a check to will have your account number.

"ach" can be from pretty much anywhere. I would definitely do what you are doing and close the account. Make sure that when you are going to have anything withdrawn that you know what it will come up as. My guess is that somewhere along the line you signed up for something; free trial, magazine subscription, etc... you didn't read the small print that said you will be charged x amount for this service unless you call to cancel. I am sure tons of people have done that, me being one of them. Could also be a scam, someone got your info somehow and is using it. Who knows. Good luck :)
