Credit Card Machines
All of sudden my credit card balance was nill. when i checked with bank and found that all the remaining balance of 1120 dollars cashed from an ATM machine, the place i have never been to before. I have been told by my bank that my card and password has been used, whereas my credit card was with me all the time. i m very curious to know what might have happened? and am i liable for it? Am i to be blamed irresponsible by any means?

I read somewhere that people are writing down people’s information like when you use your card at a restaurant and then somehow recreating the card. This happened to a friend of mine at work and the bank called her because someone was trying to use "her" card halfway across the country. She also had her card with her the whole time. You should be able to get all of your money back with no penalties. And, no, you are in no way responsible.

in aus, the person goes to the bank and the bank credits the account for the amount that has been wrongly debited. then the bank investigates for the amount and if found it has been rightly been misused , then the person gets the money back.
in future , do not use credit cards in small shops where the bank finds difficulty in chasing; whereas big retailers not the same. always have cash ready in wallet for small groceries, etc. use credit cards in major use only like plane tickets, or any expenses over $100.00

You’re responsible for the first $50.00 but in most cases the Bank will waive it. I never give my credit card to anyone unless I get it right back. As for debit cards, you are responsible for all charges no matter the amount. I also would not give it to anyone unless I was right there.

Your "credit card balance was nil"?? Are you talking about a credit card, debit card or ATM card/bank account?
