Edited to add: Well, in the future then, always, always, ALWAYS (!) get TWO phone numbers, and an address in addition to the DL number. You can copy the address off the DL when you check it for the number. Get all this same info for personal checks as well. Some people may make a stink about it, but it IS common practice, and you have to protect yourself. Count yourself lucky that this is the first time you've had to deal with this!
