Credit Card Number lawsuit?

Credit Card Machines
I need some legal advice because this kinda woke me up. I ate at a restaurant tonight and paid with my visa check card, the guy gave me my reciept from the credit card machine, and instead of giving me the customer copy he gave me the merchant copy. I looked, and my entire string of my credit card number was on that copy with the exp date. My thought was if they have an employee planning to go nuts… they can take my credit card and go shopping. Do I have grounds to file a lawsuit here?

No, no one unlawfully used your credit card. I’m just curious, why would you think you might have grounds for a lawsuit; you did not suffer a loss.

Check with an attorney, but probably not. What would you sue for? The guy hasn’t done anything wrong with it yet.

unfortunately no, if that waiter did not do anything fraudulant with your credit card you can’t do anything. Believe it or not most places of business have that same type of system, I know it leaves you with an unsecure feeling but trust me there is nothing you can do about it.

No, alas Not Yet unless you begin to get strange billing on your Credit card account since dining date.
Maybe honest error?
Then maybe sue.
But hard to prove.
