My cell phone payment was made online by my husband using his credit card and after an argument he has called the cell phone company and the card company to have the payment reversed. He told them the payment was not authorized… I’m wondering what will happen to my cell phone. My bill was due today and if the payment is reversed will the phone be turned off and how long will the whole process take?

So, I’m looking to get my first credit card soon to begin building my credit. Being that I turned 18 half a year ago with only a single bill under my name, I still have 0 or next to nothing credit. Therefore, when I go to look for one, I’m on the lower or "limited section".

My banker at one bank told me to use CapitalOne first since that’s what they used and it should work out fine. I believe I fall into the category of "Limited History" or "Limited Credit". There’s several different cards that look like they all do the same like "Platinum" and "Young Adults". However, when I go to see if I pre-qualify and say that I just want low interest rates and have limited credit, they pair me with the "Classic Premium". Is this the right choice for me and am I on the right track?

Some other concerns were that my banker told me to always pay the minimum balance on time, but leave an "outstanding balance". Any help on just what outstanding is if anything other then having something left to pay? We agreed on me paying the minimum balance then half of whatever was left. She said by doing this, I’d build credit much faster and be good after 6-8 months at which point I’d drop CO, get a credit card from my current bank and another one elsewhere.

Some other small questions are about the APR percent (what it means; how it works) and when I get the annual fee. There’s also a problem I saw during the actual application of the credit card. It requires that I put a monthly rent payment and yearly income but I’ve only had my job for 7 months and don’t make rent payments yet, so what would I put there?

I’m just here for another opinion and confirmations. I’ll most likely speak to my banker on the phone during the process as well since she only set the foundation. Thanks for any help and I apologize for my poor knowledge thus far.

We are a new merchant planning on launching an online auction website. Our business falls into higher risk category because it is an online auction plus it involves reserve deposit, capture deposit, and then transfer of deposit. My boss wants me to come up with a solution for the payment process by the end of the week. Our business model violates the rules of various third party processors such as Amazon FPS, Braintree, etc. Authorize.net has APIs to support our business model but I am yet to receive a reply from them. Paypal and GoogleCheckout are off the list because of bad reviews.

The problem is I am not 100% clear on issues such as PCI compliance, how to store the credit card information, etc (I just recently learned about merchant accounts and gateways). What would be a good place to start? How should I go about with my research? Any suggestion would be very helpful(By the way, although my boss is from US I am from Asia so it is not possible for me to make phone calls to various providers. I am trying to communicate with them through emails)

My uncle ran a restaurant in Maryland and had a four year agreement with the credit card machine company to accept credit card orders. The business has since gone belly up but they still require him to pay the 0/month fee. Is this normal practice? I have not seen or read the agreement but is it not standard where if the business tanks, you no longer have to pay the credit card company?

I have a screenprinting shop and have a client who wants a large quantity of shirts. The client has a very broken phone line so communication is tough. He agreed to the price right away and wanted to pay in full right away. I didnt have a merchant account so im setting one up which is taking longer than I thought. He wants 2000 shirts by wednesday. He sent two credit card numbers and info for billing. He didnt want to see a proof of the shirts, didnt negotioate the price, says hes in Tangier, has an address in Id, and ordered the shirts in Houston Tx, says hell have someone pick them up. I guess it would be no problem if i had been able to process the card right away. The fact that he prepaid seems legit but what kind of scams can he be running. He emailed me to go ahead and print without sending him a proof of the shirt so if he tries to say that its not what he wanted then I have that. The other thing is he’s in a rush right before a holliday, seems fishy but its good $

I am going to stop by the bank on Monday, but I just wanted to get some advice over the weekend before then.

I recently paid with a check for a loan officer training manual that included several CDs and DVDs. When I got home, the package was missing four of the CDs. I immediately called the customer service number and I had to leave a message. They took a couple of days to call me back, but they told me they would mail the missing CDs. I got the package in the mail a few days later and there were only two out of the four missing CDs. I have called back three separate times and left three separate messages trying to resolve this problem, but I have not received a return phone call. I know it would be no issue to dispute the charge if I had paid with a credit card, but I’m not quite sure about the process for disputing a charge when you pay with a check.

The training package was 5, so I’m a little bit irritated to say the least… ;)

Thanks in advance for your advice!
Oh, I forgot to mentio…yes, the check has already cleared. I was planning on stopping the payment on the check when I received the package and realized that it was still missing two CDs, but the check had already been cashed the day prior to that.

I have a low credit score but I don’t have any major debt. When I graduated from high school, preparing for college all these credit card companies were sending me cards. so like a idiot I used them not thinking about my credit score. I got behind on all of them. I had like 5 and i had to settle with the majority of them so i could get rid of them. However, now 6 years later I want to buy a house and get a car and my score is jacked up. I have paid all them off through settlement. but they are still reporting negative on my credit report. I have a phone bill of 1 I need to pay that’s still on there but my score is poor. What can I do to speed up the process for me to be able to at least get a car and a house. I know I have to pay that phone bill but how do i get those write offs and charge off, gone forever. Any suggestions?

Ok I am 23. I am a first year grad student and I also have a full time job. I am trying to be responsible and plan for my future. I have a low credit score because of stupid stuff and now I am trying to build my credit and show that I am responsible. I have 3 hospital bills on my credit report which I just paid all three of them off, I have a utility bill that I paid off, and I have a old phone bill that I am in the process of paying off. I wont to get a credit card to help show that I can pay bills online but I am not sure who I should go through since my credit isn’t the best. any suggestions. Thanks in advance

I have one leased for 4 years and was just wondering. Also does it matter how often you use it?

We just got our first VISA debit card and I wondered what happens when the merchant processes it as a credit. Does the money still come out of the account just like the debit does? I just want to make sure that I deduct it in my checkbook so I want to make sure I am doing it right.

We are in the process of buying a new car from an authorized dealer.

The car we want is hard to find. I have searched online inventories of dealers within our state and within the neighboring states and have found 1 with the exact specs we want.

I called the dealership, got a price from them (invoice, although not in writing yet). We are planning to go get the car on Monday. The dealer wants me to give him a 0.00 deposit over the phone for him to hold the car until I come and get it. I understand why he would want to do this.

My question is… is there anything I need to do before I give him my 0 deposit by credit card over the phone? Is this the usual practice? Is there any danger to this??? Any advice?

Thanks!

So I am totally unsure about this, my parents own a small restaurant and we had a credit card machine for around 1 year, my dad never opens the merchant service mails untill last week, the letter said that someone filed a credit card fraud and 2 times as we look at the date of the transaction we found the recipe of the payment and it was both same person signature paid with different cards, and they filed for a refund both time.

My question is if this person comes back, We know who it is and wanted to know what we can do to help stop the person.

i ordered a phone and plan last night and i got this e-mail.
"Thank you for ordering! Our sales team is
processing your order, and will contact you soon to confirm completion."
then i got a order number along with it.

im only 15 and i put in my b-day and social security number in so they know im 15 but in the fine print it said you have to be 18 or older to order. my mom said i could use her credit card and pay her back every month so then i entered her credit card number and her name.

do you think they canceled the order because of my age or do i have to wait longer? thanks!
